Waterdown BIA Parkette

Waterdown BIA Parkette

The Dundas Quarry is a proud member of the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce, and has in fact had an employee on the Board of Directors since the Chamber was formed. Recently, Lafarge was approached through the Chamber about donating some landscape armour stone to a local initiative – the Waterdown Business Improvement Area (BIA) Parkette.

In May 2012, Lafarge Dundas Quarry donated three tonnes of armour stone for the beautification project taking place at the corner of Hamilton Street and John Street. The first phase of the project, completed in 2012, included the building of a walkway and a small garden. The donated stones from Lafarge Dundas were used as a framework for the perennial garden. In 2013, the second and final phase of the project will include adding annuals on the outside of the armour stone (or “lava rock”) to provide some more colour and contrast to the parkette.
